About NYC Sweeper Alert

A free tool to help NYC residents avoid street cleaning tickets.

What it does

NYC Sweeper Alert lets you look up the street cleaning schedule for any NYC block and sign up for a one-time email or SMS reminder before the sweeper arrives. Once the sweep passes, your alert automatically expires — no account needed.

Data accuracy

Schedule data is sourced from NYC Open Data. While we do our best to surface accurate information, schedules can change due to holidays, city suspensions, or data updates. Always verify your block's posted signs before relying solely on this service.

Street cleaning is suspended on certain holidays. We check the NYC sanitation calendar automatically, but suspension data may not always be up to date.

No liability

NYC Sweeper Alert is provided as-is with no guarantees. We are not responsible for parking tickets, towing fees, or any other costs incurred as a result of relying on this service. When in doubt, check the physical signs on your block.

Privacy

We only store your email address or phone number for the sole purpose of sending your requested alert. We do not sell, share, or use your contact information for any other purpose. Subscriptions automatically expire after the sweep and are deleted from our system.

Service availability

This is a personal project maintained on a best-effort basis. We make no guarantees about uptime or delivery of alerts. Alerts depend on third-party services (AWS SES for email, AWS SNS for SMS) which may occasionally experience delays or outages.
